On April 10th, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (referred to as “CAAM”) held a press conference to release data. It showed that in March 2024, China exported 502,000 vehicles, marking a 33% increase month-on-month and a 37.9% increase year-on-year. Breaking it down by vehicle type, passenger car exports reached 424,000 units, up 34.6% month-on-month and 39.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, commercial vehicle exports stood at 78,000 units, up 24.9% month-on-month and 31% year-on-year.
As for new energy vehicles, China exported 307,000 units in the first quarter of 2024, marking a 23.8% year-on-year increase. Specifically, in March, new energy vehicle exports reached 124,000 units, up 52% month-on-month and 59.4% year-on-year.
